Dubai’s Population Surpasses 3.6 Million, Witnessing 2.3% Growth in Q1 2023

Dubai's Population Surpasses 3.6 Million

The latest data from the Dubai Statistics Centre reveals that as of June 26, 2023, Dubai’s population has crossed the milestone of 3.6 million people, indicating a year-to-date growth of 1.43% in 2023.  Compared to the population count of 3,550,186 on December 31, 2022, the emirate’s population has seen a steady increase.

As of March 31, 2023, the population recorded a significant rise of 2.3% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 3,575,962 from 3,496,097. It’s remarkable to note that back in 1975, Dubai’s population was a mere 183,187, showcasing the exceptional growth the city has experienced over the years.

The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan outlines ambitious strategies to accommodate the growing population. The plan emphasises expanding green spaces, parks, and recreational areas throughout the emirate. By 2040, Dubai envisions its population to reach 5.8 million, aiming to achieve higher population density and even more enhanced infrastructure and services. The plan also seeks to ensure that 80% of the daily population’s needs can be fulfilled within 20 minutes or less through walking, cycling, or using soft mobility means.

In line with its vision for the future, Dubai has set a goal to become the top-ranked city to live in.
